"When I am listening to Casey Penn sing, I find myself in a blanket of goose bumps. Her voice goes right to my soul." (Dana Landers, Singer/Songwriter)
"Casey Penn is not only a great singer/songwriter but someone who sings from the depths of her heart, and you feel it when you hear her sing. Wonderful talent!" (Tim Raybon, Merle Monroe)
Casey is a songwriter, musician, music writer, and performer based in Central Arkansas. She is currently working on a debut solo album. Casey was a core member of the ACMA-nominated Americana duo Lee Street Lyrical (now dissolved). Before the band's ending in 2021, it was signed to Travianna Records and released its debut single, "I'll Never Be A Mountain Girl." The song reached #8 on Bluegrass Today's Weekly Grassicana Chart.
Casey feels a kinship with music of many genres, particularly Americana, bluegrass, and country. Her goal is to spread and support the music that she loves. She says, "I try to write and sing from an honest place, and I hope that my delivery is personal in a way that rewards listeners for spending time with me."
With cowriter Rodger King, Casey won an Arkansas-wide songwriting competition hosted by Infrared Studios. As a result, the two produced and released a Spring/Summer 2016 LP, KINGPENN. Bluegrass Unlimited reviewer Bill Conger wrote of the album, "One of the greatest joys in reviewing CDs is the discovery of new music ... Penn’s cut-to-the-soul vocals are featured in several of the songs ... My favorite is the opening cut, 'Oceans (I Have Cried),' which won an honorable mention in the 2016 Hazel Dickens Bluegrass Songwriting Competition."
