Bluegrass/roots artist Casey Penn is excited to release her first single as an independent artist. A Penn original, “Another Fast Song,” was co-written with Brent Baxter, and Jerry Salley.

“People ask where song ideas come from,” Penn recalled the story behind the song. "This one came from my co-writers asking me what I need to write. I smiled and said, ‘I could always use another fast song in the set.' And from that title, we were off and running.”

Co-produced by Penn and Chris Latham at The Gorilla's Nest studio outside Nashville, Tenn., “Another Fast Song” came out as energetic as Penn envisioned, complete with a blazing instrumental that drives the song home. Along with Penn (lead vocals), the track features Jerry Salley (harmony vocals), Andy Leftwich (fiddle, mandolin), Byron House (bass), and Tony Wray (guitar, banjo).
